Every weekend, I try to take a day to relax a little and check off all the things I usually don’t have time to do during the week. I typically use my Saturday to do that because I like to do my homework on Sundays.
Since I can’t sleep in often, I like to turn my alarm clock off on Saturdays and just wake up naturally. This is usually around 7:30 or 8 am, although sometimes I’ll accidentally stay in bed until 9 am just surfing my phone. Once I get up, I’ll make my bed and change into workout clothes. Sometimes I’ll go for a run, anywhere from 30 mins to over an hour, depending on what kind of run I decide to do. Sometimes, I’ll decide to stay in and look for a workout on YouTube (often I’ll do POPSUGAR Fitness or Blogilates). Finally, other times I’ll go on a hike either with friends or by myself.
If I have enough time, I’ll treat myself to a nice bubble bath after working out. When I do longer workouts or have a lot on my plate, I’ll just take a nice, warm shower. I also usually take the time to shave, exfoliate, and do all that other fun skincare stuff I usually don’t have time to do during the week.
The rest of the day involves mostly cleaning and checking miscellaneous things off my checklist. I’ll do my laundry, vacuum, clean the bathroom, take out the trash and recycle, etc. I try to mop the floors once or twice a month as well. I find that listening to music motivates me and helps me get in a productive mindset. I love connecting my Spotify to my Chromecast so that the music plays through my TV. Lately, I’ve been loving these playlists for when I need to be productive: Morning Acoustic, Your Favorite Coffeehouse, Relax & Unwind, Evening Acoustic, and Chillin’ on a Dirt Road.
Once I feel like everything is sufficiently cleaned, I’ll usually go through my emails and write my blog post for the next day. The rest of the day kind of changes every week. I usually finish my checklist, go to the grocery store if I need anything, and then relax and hang out with friends. I’ve also been wanting to go to more bulk food stores once a week with my own containers so that I can buy food without the packaging. I’ll do a post on that once I go to a bulk food store and share my experience with you guys!
Anyways, that’s pretty much what a typical Bonnie Saturday looks like!
Here are some of my tips to be more productive:
- Put on some music that motives you
- Make a checklist, but don’t make it too long or else it might discourage you. I like to have a NECESSARY section and a IF YOU HAVE TIME section. I try to put a maximum of 5 things under the NECESSARY section
- Go easy on yourself- you want to be productive, not stressed and frustrated
- Take breaks
- Keep phone time to a minimum
Before I say goodbye, here are a few motivational quotes.
“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing” ~ Walt Disney
“The best way to predict the future is to create it” ~ Alan Kay
“Focus on being productive instead of busy” ~ Tim Ferris
I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know your productivity tips in the comments!
Plein de bisous,
